How To Grow Your Hair Faster

If you\’re one of those “lucky” ones that is blessed with thin, barely there hair, if you\’ve come to the right place! Today you\’ll learn how to grow your hair faster, healthier, and thicker!. Remember that most people aren\’t born with a thick head of long, luscious locks…they actually abide to some very specific rules! #1. Get Regular Trims

Ironically, scissors ARE your friend. And I know that if your hair doesn\’t grow too much, the last thing you want to do is take a pair of scissors to it, but believe me, there is NO better trick than to regular trim your split ends every 10-12 weeks. Only an eighth of an inch is all that you need to take off – you won\’t even notice it! If you never trim your split ends, your splits will eventually make their way to the top of your scalp and break there which is a big no-no.

#2. Condition, Condition, Condition

It\’s no surprise that conditioner IS your best friend when it comes to growing out your hair. It protects the hair shafts and seals the hair folicle making it healthy and strong. So every time your hair is wet (even if you\’ve just come out of the pool!), apply a little conditioner to your ends to lock in those folicles.

#3. Skip The Shampoo

You really don\’t need to wash your hair every single day…or even every other day! Instead, try shampooing it only 2-3 times a week. Although shampoo gets rid of debris and smells, it also gets rid of the scalp\’s natural oils which actually help your hair grow. So by shampooing your hair often, you\’re actually just causing more damage. Instead of shampooing every day, simply wet your hair, apply a moisturizing conditioner to your ends, and style as usual. Or, you can also use a dry shampoo or baby powder in between shampoos to minimize oiliness.

#4. Apply A Weekly Mask

Once a week, pamper your dry, brittle hair to an oil mask. Simply mix equal parts coconut oil with jojoba oil and massage through scalp and ends. Leave on for 10 minutes and follow up with a shampoo and conditioner. The mask will do wonders for thin, dry hair, as conditioner often just isn\’t enough. Plus coconut oil is amazing when it comes to regrowth properties!

#5. Grow it From the Inside Out

It\’s simply not enough to just pile on masks and conditioners. Hair growing actually starts from the inside, so if your hair just isn\’t growing or is breaking off, think about your diet. Are you eating enough fruits and veggies? Avocado, for example is an absolute must-have for healthy hair growth – an avocado a day keeps the split ends away! If you don\’t like avocados, or aren\’t a fan of leafy greens, take a biotin supplement which is not only great for hair, but also for your skin and nails.

#6. Brush Slowly and Carefully

I often see people brush their hair as if it\’s made out of steel. Your hair breaks extremely easily, therefore when you brush it, think of it as strands of gold that you can never replace! Do it slowly, do it carefully, and never pull. Always start by brushing from the ends and working your way up. This is especially true when your hair is wet – avoid brushing wet hair (other than to get the tangles out) as much as possible. Finally, keep the brush away from your hair as much as possible – the more you brush, the more you loose because you\’re pulling at the strands.

#7. Get Rid of That Cotton Pillowcase

While you rest your head on your cotton pillowcase, tangles make their way to the back of your head. This is caused by friction between your hair and the cotton fabric. Think about switching your cotton pillow case with a satin one and you\’ll notice how you won\’t wake up with tangled hair anymore!

#8. Never Wrap Your Hair in a Towel Again

Guilty as charged, I do this every single time. But according to hair stylists, this is about the worst thing you can do! Wrapping your hair in a giant bath towel pulls away at your strands, making them weak and even breaking them off. Instead, opt for a thin, soft microfiber towel which is totally okay to wrap around your hair.

#9. Rinse With Cold Water

Although it may not feel pleasant on your skin, your hair will thank you for it. Rinsing your hair with cold water at the end will seal in all the moisture and also fix heat damage. You only need the cold water on your hair for a few seconds and over time, this can make a huge difference!
