1. Perfect Rice Hack

When you cook rice, does it come out mushy and one giant blob of rice? An easy way to combat this problem and create the perfect rice, is by adding in a kitchen towel. Stay with me, I promise. When cooking rice on a stovetop and the rice starts to boil over the water’s edge, turn the heat to low and cover the pot with a kitchen towel and put the lid back on. Make sure to wrap the towel’s edges above the lid and cook for another ten minutes. The moisture will soak into the towel and not back onto the rice!

2. Hard Butter Struggles

Spreading hard butter can ruin many pieces of toast. The butter does not spread and can even break soft pieces of toast. An easy way to make your hard butter into soft butter, a grater. Grate the butter stick, like you would a block of cheese, and the smaller pieces of butter will spread softly and melt perfectly into your bread.

3. Baking Bacon

If you want all your pieces of bacon to come out equally crispy, bake your bacon instead of frying it. This will leave behind all the splattering grease problems and is way easier. Preheat your oven at 400 degrees. Line your bacon on a cookie sheet, covered in foil, and put it in the oven. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes for chewy bacon and 30 to 35 minutes for crispy bacon, depending on your preference.

4. Frozen Wine Cubes

It is never a good feeling to throw away leftover wine. A great way to use every drop is by freezing the leftover wine in an ice tray. The wine ice cubes can be used in the future for any recipe that needs a cooking wine. Perfect!

5. Fresh Avocado

Avocado’s brown very quickly. There are many different methods on the best way to keep avocados fresh. One that has been tested and found to work is by cutting the avocado in half and taking out the pit. Then, cut a piece of onion and put the onion and remaining avocado together in a Ziploc, or plastic wrap, and placing it in the fridge. This will keep your avocados from browning as fast as normal.
